Call your Representative at 515 281 3221 and tell them to vote YES on Senate Joint Resolution 2009.

 ASK THEM TO With only a few days left in the session, we need the Iowa House to bring the resolution to a vote on the floor. While we do have broad support for this initiative, the clock is working against us and unfortunately, several Representatives fail to understand or see the importance of this legislation - this may very well be our LAST CHANCE this session!!!

Senate Joint Resolution 2009 would nullify the Dept of Public Safety's administrative rule that has the state building code mandate fire sprinklers in residential construction by 2013.  While this action still permits cities and counties to determine their own local sprinkler ordinances, it is an important statement by the state legislature to those communities who are looking to the state building code for guidance (and precedence) on the sprinkler issue.    

Yesterday, Tues. March 23, the Iowa Senate approved Senate Joint Resolution 2009 on a 49-0 vote.  Thanks for your efforts in contacting your Senators to make this effort a success!
